Marie-Christine Huot is a great and fun licensed tour guide who will tell you the story of Paris in French, English or Spanish through standard tours of the city or through “Paris, off the beaten track” (i.e: the Da Vinci Code tour of Paris). She also tours outside of Paris. She can take you to Giverny for a guided tour of impressionist painter Monet’s home and gardens, to Versailles, to Chartres for its Cathedral (on the UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites, Chartres Cathedral is considered to represent Gothic architecture at its finest) and even further westward to the Loire Valley known for its beautiful castles. I recommend her “Stars of the Louvre” tour which takes you around the most famous pieces (i.e: The Coronation of Napoleon by Jacques-Louis David, the “celebrity” piece) of artwork in the Louvre museum. If you want a less touristy tour of the Louvre, I recommend seeing the Egyptian Antiquities department in the Sully wing, a tour that takes you around the art of Pharaonic Egypte (a must see). She gives tours to groups and individuals as well as after hours private museum tours. Her rates are 60€/hour (2 hours minumum) or 470€/day. Go to Marie-Christine Huot for more information.
