Hotels in Paris are often becoming travelers’ back up choice when vacationing abroad. More people are opting for a Paris rental apartment by the night, the week or the month. Living like a local is considerably cheaper and offers many more amenities: a kitchen, free internet access, more space, a place where you can actually host parties if you want to.
Following are a few links to Paris vacationing/short term/long term rentals websites. They usually offer enough pictures of the Parisian apartments for rent that you can get a pretty good idea of what to expect — at least aesthetically speaking. Plan several months ahead of time to get what you are looking for. And for those of you who can’t book ahead of time, some of these sites also offer last minute deals.

airbnb
“We connect people who have space to spare with those who are looking for a place to stay. Guests can build real connections with their hosts, gain access to distinctive spaces, and immerse themselves in the culture of their destinations. Whether it’s an urban apartment or countryside castle, Airbnb makes it effortless to showcase your space to an audience of millions, and to find the right space at any price point, anywhere.”

cobblestay
“Beautiful trendy apartments and a dedicated customer service
from North Americans who understand the needs of fellow travelers.”

feelparis
“Feel Apartments is a vacation and short term rental agency. Since its foundation in 2004, Feel Apartments selects properties and owners according to our quality standards and price competitiveness. Today, we offer a selection of more than 600 properties in Barcelona, Paris, New York or Miami. More than 200 owners are using Feel apartment’s websites as the exclusive promotion channel for their properties. We receive around 6,000 clients every year. Feel Agencies are committed to become your favorite vacation and short term rental agencies, by offering attractive apartments and houses, an efficient website and a friendly and caring customer service.”

haveninparis
“Welcome to a different kind of Paris vacation. Stay in your own luxury Paris apartment rental and experience a holiday like never before.”

homelidays
Homelidays publishes adverts for holiday rentals and Bed & Breakfasts located all over the world and put holiday makers and owners in direct contact with each other. It is not an estate agency or a third party and it does not take any commission on rentals.

lodgis
“Furnished Paris apartments rentals and Paris vacation apartments rentals, home or villa rental for tourism, business trip, corporate relocation and internship.”

nyhabitat
“The idea for the company came after recognizing the lack of options available to travelers who desired more personal accommodations than those provided in hotels. This is how New York Habitat designed a way to give travelers the feeling of what it is like to live independently in New York, Paris, the South of France or London, by arranging stays in quality furnished apartments. Our approach was and is unique, and has been embraced by the international travel community. Since its inception, the company has grown and expanded its services and clientele. Originally serving mostly French visitors to New York, New York Habitat now serves a vast international clientele.”

paris-dream-apartments
“Paris-dream-apartments.com, a non-profit website presenting furnished apartments for short-term rental, is born from the desire of two people, Camille and David, to share the city they love with people worldwide who want to spend a wonderful vacation in an authentic Parisian setting or stay in a comfortable apartment during business travel.

Renting an apartment in Paris can be a very difficult thing. Lots of documents are required and if you are a foreigner you might never come up with what you are being asked for. You might find a room much faster if you decide to share a flat with someone already renting in Paris. If you are looking to rent a room in Paris or you want to share an apartment with French people for an unlimited or limited amount of time, and you don’t mind living with a roommate or two (the more roommates, the bigger the apartment—that can be a plus in Paris) here’s a place for you to check: colocation.fr. It is a serious website (in French) that is referred to in national newspapers and magazines and on the Paris City Hall’s website.

The site was first targeted to students but it quickly extended its services to everyone. With over 150 000 visitors per month, colocation is being used by single people or couples—married or not, with children or without. The flat-sharing business is sought after by people from 18 to 50 years old who are interested in it for reasons as various as saving money, not being alone, living a communal life or meeting new people.

L’Hotel Particulier Montmartre is a little gem, a unique kind of hotel, a place unlike any other that is located in Montmartre and that is probably most distinguishable for its charm. The hidden street to access l’Hôtel Particulier Montmartre is unbelievably fairytale-esque; its name is nothing less than le Passage du Rocher de la Sorcière (the passage of the witch’s rock!) The gate hides a beautiful garden—the kind you don’t find in Paris unless you own a hotel particulier or something of a certain opulence; it is designed by landscape artist Louis Benech who renovated the Jardins des Tuileries and the Jardins de l’Elysée (the gardens of the presidential home.) Last but not least, if you walk through the Passage du Rocher de la Sorcière you’ll pass by one of the oldest pétanque (bocce ball) fields in Paris, a place so typically French that you will have the quintessential French experience in just the blink of an eye.
Only Five suites in this hotel. Rates go from 290€ to 490€ in low season and from 390€ to 590€ in high season. L’Hôtel Particulier Montmartre also rents rooms for special events (seminars, press conferences, private parties…) Bookings can be done online. Check out their website for photos and press releases.
