A typical ballad runs: “Listen my love. M.</span> Weston.” Brussels, their shopping mecca, is referred to in Congolese as Lola, meaning paradise.<br />
These are <em>sapeurs</em>, acolytes of a 25-year-old movement called la <strong><span class="caps">SAPE</span></strong>—La Societé des Ambianceurs et des Personnes Élégantes (aka Kitendi, the religion of the cloth)—that revolves around the possession of the most expensive, most luxurious, most extravagant fashion in the world. Followers of <strong><span class="caps">SAPE</span></strong> wear $10,000 jackets and $500 shoes, but these mostly young Congolese men otherwise barely eke out a living in the rubble of Kinshasa and Brazzaville or the ghettos of Paris and Brussels, washing dishes or washing bodies, and sometimes selling their own.&#8221; -Anna&nbsp;Weinberg</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Organized by the Fondation Pierre Berger and the Petit Palais - Musée des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris, this is the first comprehensive retrospective of Yves Saint Laurent&#8217;s work. 307 pieces taken from his <em>haute couture</em> and <em>prêt-à-porter</em> collections, ranging from his early days at Dior in 1958 to his final collection of evening gowns in 2002, will be on display. Films and photographs illustrating Yves Saint Laurent&#8217;s 40 years of creation within its historical context will complete this&nbsp;exhibition. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span class="dquo"><span class="dquo">&#8220;</span></span>This exhibition of some 120 of Lisette Model’s most representative photographs illustrates the very bold and direct approach to reality that made her one of the most singular proponents of street photography, the particular form of documentary photography that developed in New York during the 1940s, through the camerawork of such as Helen Levitt, Roy de Carava and Weegee.<br />
Alongside the photographs, archive film and sound recordings of Lisette Model will evoke the photographer’s life, and there will be copies of magazines to which she contributed (Regards, Harper’s Bazaar,&nbsp;etc.)&#8221;</p>
