I can’t help but be drawn by it every time I walk by. The owner, Emmanuelle Fructus, has been in the business of collecting old black and white photographs for the past 20 years. She says you can count on your fingers the amount of true collectors of vintage photographs here in France, not more than ten, that’s how few they are. She opened her shop a few years ago to buy and sell old photographs. She also has a selection of old color photographs as well as Polaroids. You will also find rare and limited edition books as well as some fun tote bags. Average prices for 4x6 prints range from 10 to 50 Euros. She is usually open in the afternoon on week days but can also be seen by appointment. Her opening hours are flexible so it is safer to call before heading there.

The meet and cheeses used for the pizzas come from Italy. The dough is made every 24 to 48 hours and the toppings vary daily — they are made with fresh ingredients (except for the mushrooms when they are not in season.) Slices costs 3,80€ (classic) or 4,80€ (gourmet). I love their pizza dough, it is soft in the middle and slightly crunchy on the outside—just enough to feel a slight resistance when biting.

Among many other bands performing until dawn there will also be Flairs and Cosmobrown (playing sometime between 8pm and midnight) and Cosmo Vitelli (playing  somewhere between 1am and 6am). Chateau Marmont’s influences go back to Giorgio Moroder, Cerrone, Space, Tangerine Dream and Jean-Michel Jarre. They also remix songs by Midnight Juggernauts, Ladyhawke, Tahiti 80, La Roux…
